Ellery retired in 1945 as an assistant vice president of Industrial National Bank. He worked at the bank for 47 years. He was promoted to assistant vice president from assistant treasurer in 1942. At the time of his death he was a member of Solomon's Temple Lodge F. and A.M. of Uxbridge, St. Elmo Royal Arch Chapter of Whitinsville, Mass., Woonsocket Commandery KT, Palestine Temple Shrine, the Rhode Island Society Sons of the American Revolution, a former treasurer of the Westminster Unitarian Church and former member of the Providence Real Estate Board. Funeral services were held at the Westminster Unitarian Church, Kenyon Avenue, East Greenwich. SSN 039-07-7407
