Gordon played defensemen for the Mamaroneck High School Hockey Team. This team on the Westchester High School Hockey League Championship in 1932. "Gordy" had 6 goals and 2 assists that season. Met his wife, Mary Holbrook, at Buttonwoods Resort in 1936. They were swimming at the beach. He then called on her that night for thier first date.
His father-in-law thought Gordon was irresponsible because he bought and sold cars like water.
Gordon sold Hospital Supplies. He then sold Curolex for Libby Owens (which was then bought by Johns Manfield). Gordon had to move his family to Deerfield because JM wanted him to manage a large, local, account.
When Gordon left the Saxony Corporation his employees gave him a watch in appreciation of work.
Gordon never liked his step-mother Verne.
Gordon had polio as a child.
He always had a manicured lawn (done himself) and enjoyed sailing and hockey.
